CERTIFIED PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

“Provide Comprehensive Patient Care”

 The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Program at Safe Care Health School prepares you to become a well-rounded healthcare professional. Over 4 months (420 hours), you will learn skills in patient care, including phlebotomy, EKG, and general medical assisting, giving you the flexibility to work in a variety of healthcare settings.  


 

Eligibility Requirements 


To enroll in the Phlebotomy Technician Program, you must: 

  1. Be 18 years or older. 
  2. Education: No prior healthcare experience needed. Just bring your passion and willingness to learn.
  3. Provide the following documents: 

  • High school diploma or graduation certificate. 
  • Social Security number. 
  • Driver’s license or government-issued ID. 
  • Physical Examination and Immunizations.
  • Passport-sized photo.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll acquire expertise in: 

  • Basic patient care skills (feeding, bathing, and mobility assistance). 
  • Performing phlebotomy and EKG tests. 
  • Assisting healthcare teams in hospitals or long-term care facilities. 
  • Understanding patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality. 

Career Opportunities

As a Patient Care Technician, you’ll be qualified to work in:

Salary Expectations: PCTs can earn between $35,000– $55,000 annually, depending on location and experience.  

MedCA Certification

Upon completion, students can appear MedCA Patient Care Technician certification, ensuring national recognition based on your career goals. 

Program Outline

Duration: 3.5 months

Total Hours:  420

Schedule:

  • Morning Batch: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Evening Batch: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Module 1: Learn patient rights, ethics, and professional conduct.

Module 2: Understand medical terminology for effective communication.

Module 3: Basics of human anatomy, physiology, and body systems.

Module 4: Assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and feeding.

Module 5: Measuring vital signs and monitoring patient health.

Module 6: Performing basic phlebotomy and EKG procedures.

Module 7: Assisting in wound care and infection control practices.

Module 8: Handling medical equipment and ensuring patient safety.

Module 9: Supporting nurses and physicians during medical procedures.

Module 10: Understanding and maintaining patient records and documentation.
